If you’ve filed a support case by email before, you may be familiar with this scenario: send the message, wait, forget which day you sent it, then dig through your inbox trying to find your own case number so you can ask for an update. None of that time gets you closer to a fix. It’s just the cost of using email to talk to a vendor.
The Customer Portal exists to take that cost off your plate.
We built the Customer Portal because you deserve transparency, not a quest for answers.
The idea didn’t come from a product roadmap. It came from watching a dealer try to get help.
I spoke to a customer several months ago who said, ‘Hold on, let me pull up my case.’ I watched them sign out of our product and pull up their inbox to go through a very painful search to identify a case number and look through their communication history with us. I realized right then and there that you shouldn’t have to leave our product to talk to our team. And that’s exactly why we built our portal.”
Chris Ryan, Sr. Director, CX Transformation, Dealer Spike
That’s the whole thesis. You shouldn’t have to leave the product to get help from the people who built it. So now you don’t.
You submit a case in two clicks, and it lands with the right team the first time.
Instead of writing an email and hoping it reaches someone who can actually solve your problem, you answer one routing question up front. That single question sends your case straight to integrations, support, or tech ops, whichever one owns the fix. The result: cases submitted through the portal resolve roughly 10% faster than the same case sent by email, simply because it skips the detour through someone forwarding your message to the right desk.
You decide what’s urgent, not a queue that’s guessing.
This is the part that changes the relationship the most. With email, your case sits in a queue and gets prioritized by someone who’s reading a subject line, not living your Tuesday. In the portal, you set the priority yourself. Missing inventory or something visibly broken on your site gets marked urgent by you, the person who actually knows how much it’s costing you.
Your voice really matters here, and you can control that inside of the portal, something that you can’t do with email.”
Chris Ryan, Sr. Director, CX Transformation, Dealer Spike
Picture a real week. You submit a banner request Friday afternoon for a Labor Day sale. In an email thread, that request sits wherever it lands in someone’s inbox. In the portal, you mark it urgent yourself, because you know the sale starts Monday and every hour it’s not live is an hour of traffic that doesn’t see it. That’s the difference between hoping someone reads your subject line and knowing your priority was heard.
Everything else about your case lives in the portal too, not scattered across your inbox.
A few other things change once you’re not managing this by email:
- Files and updates stay together. Attach a screenshot or a file the moment you submit, instead of a follow-up email you’ll forget to send. Add a comment when you need an update instead of writing “any word on this?” for the third time.
- Your case history is all in one place. See your open cases at a glance, and pull up anything you’ve submitted before, in order, without searching your inbox for a subject line you don’t remember.
- Invoices are available the moment you need them. Pull your own invoices directly from the portal, downloadable on demand, without opening a case or waiting on a reply. One note: this view requires admin or account manager access, so if you don’t see it, that’s likely why.
- It’s live now, with more of the platform joining it soon. If you’re on Spark, the portal is live today. It’s coming to V6 and V7 next quarter. You’ll find it in the upper-right corner of your CMS, or from the case buttons on your homepage.

Chris walks through the whole portal live in the What’s New at Dealer Spike webinar, including the invoice download most dealers don’t know about yet.
And if you want to see it in action before then, we’ve also put together a closer look at the Customer Portal, video included.
